I have often got asked about the little note above my kitchen oven and many have taken a picture for their guidance. Its true, everyone knows what to do when a cold strikes but during times of distress the mind often blanks out. Its always handy to have a written blue print of what essentially works well placed… and in my case above my oven, the centre point to everyone’s attention!

This list has worked and gotten us through tough times from a simple sneeze, sore throat, eyestrain to fever, asthma, even covid. And today I share these tips with you. 10 tips to a quick recovery, a talk about some over the counter and holistic work, a combination for self-help and quick recovery.

The moment anyone in the house is unwell, especially a younger child or senior, immediately check BP pulse, Oximeter for asthma & take the Temperature for fever amd monitor symptoms. A high pulse can denote infection and low BP can suggests dehydration. Act in accordance, if unstable please take the appropriate measures and your medication as advised by your doctor. After which consider the below holistic suggestions to strengthen body & immunity.    .

10 Step Quick step recovery

  3. Honey Balm / Vaseline. Apply a little with cotton bud around the outside of nose. It helps prevent allergens and pollens entering the nose and causing the sneezes.

  4. Multi Vitamins, Vit C 500-1000 mg gentle non-acidic

  5. Manuka honey warm water with Rescue Remedy Bach flower. An emergency mix to calm down symptoms. Boosts immunity, helps recovery. Crab apple, Holly, Water Violet mix works well alongside. Please get in touch for Bach flowers relating to your specific symptoms.

  6. Herbal tea : fresh mint leaves in warm water. Mild tea with a few leaves. Refreshing, energising, decongesting while soothing that body ache. Tulsi tea at bedtime works well too.

  3. Gargle with Salt or Workadine, soluble Disprin.

  4. Throat spray like Difflam relieves throat pain, pure Manuka honey sweets or Strepsils Extra (Hexylresorcinol) mild antiseptic to fight infection and a local anaesthetic for throat pain.
